Not a great vintage for the Bordelaise either, but some superb Calvedos was made in 1971.

But I do like 1971 Grateful Dead!!!

I need to take Oenology lessons from you. The depth of my wine knowledge is somewhere between shallow and wading.

Looking forward to getting together with you again Rick. I'm heading back to Long Island on Saturday and planning on getting back down to OBX after Thanksgiving weekend.

And I'm now officially a member of the Herd. I'm going to to see Donna the Buffalo in NYC on 11/25.

The Heavy Pets just booked a show in Norfolk - about 20 minutes away at the Jewish Mother Backstage (backside of the NORVA Theater). 12/10 I think.

I think Charlie Miller is still doing their sound - that would be a fun get together.

Crap....

I was just informed by Mrs. Mando that I will be busy on 12/10.

She had "that" look and used "that" tone, so there is no hope of negotiating my way out of whatever it is she has in store.

Now I have to try and figure out what is going on on 12/10 that I forgot about.

The Northern California 71 Ridge Cabernat Sauvignon Montebello placed 5th at the 76 Paris tastings. It helped change the way people view wine around the world. http://www.cask23.com/history/parisTasting/
But I am more of an ale drinker hard to find a good porter in a bottle though. Here is concrete evidence that 71 is the best http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g92S5eZ0StQ
furthur evidence http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vihYeWip4g&;feature=related. That should explain it.

Awesome read. Its amazing where a typo can lead. I deleted part of the subject box by mistake and chose not to go back and look it up. Expanded my knowledge of vino and get to hear more 71 in the process. Gotta love this place. Thanks all.
